Most of us drink coffee everyday but have you ever thought to put it on your face? A new super fruit, CoffeeBerry, derived from the coffee plant, is exceptionally rich in anti-oxidants. Found in the Horn of Africa, CoffeeBerry was discovered to be a restorative skin treatment when the people harvesting the coffee plants noticed their hands looking remarkably smooth and nourished. According to coffeeberry.org, a 1 gram serving of CoffeeBerry Forte Extract provides the same anti-free radical power as 625 grams of fresh blueberries, 974 grams of strawberries, 1230 grams of raspberries or 2030 grams of grapes!

REVALÉSKIN decided to incorporate this powerful extract in their skin care line in order to revitalize aging skin, defend against everyday environmental stressors (e.g. sun, wind, pollution) and even out skin tone. REVALÉSKIN has five products as of yet but my favorite is the Intense Recovery Treatment. It has the most potent concentration of the super-antioxidant CoffeeBerry extract and helps hydrate my extremely dry skin. It has been said that REVALÉSKIN is a great alternative to Kinerase and Prevage, and also works well with Retin-A.
Seen in this month’s issue of InStyle Magazine, REVALÉSKIN Intense Recovery Treatment is a must have for light skinned people who want to even out their skin tone and combat the damaging effects of the sun.

Every time I visit the nail salon I take a long look at all of the colors. No matter how many I look at my eye is always drawn to the same one. It never fails. OPI Chapel of Love is definitely my color of choice. It is not too pink, not too orange and not too dark. It is juuuust right! I know the magazines always tell us what the “color of the moment” is but for some reason I am attached to this one.
Chapel of Love is the perfect color and it typically stays on until taken off, which is usually about 3-4 weeks. The best part is that you can buy it at Target. Seriously, who knew you could get OPI at Target?! However, if you prefer to shop online then you can also get it here for the bargain price of $5.49. Not sure what color you want and don’t think Chapel of Love is for you? You can always go to OPI’s web site and try colors on your virtual hand to see what fits your skin tone and nail length best!
What is your favorite color? Do you prefer OPI or Essie?

Raspberry Bite, Raisin Rage, Mulled Wine, Private Red, Russian Red…the list goes on and on. Finding that perfect shade of red is always a challenge and once you do find that rouge parfait, the next challenge is to get it to stay on your lips and off of your teeth!
I recently found my rouge parfait and it goes by the name of Barcelona. The lip stick/liner/lip plumper (your ultimate all-in-one stick) is part of Bare Escentuals’ Buxom line and it not only lasts but it conditions your lips as well. The Buxom line is formulated to naturally create the look of fuller, more voluptuous lips. The Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick defines the shape of lips like a liner, fills them in with creamy velvet color, and then plumps them to their full buxom potential.
I personally like to add a little shine to my lips so I ALWAYS add a Smashbox gloss on top of any color I am wearing. The Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick is only available at Sephora and comes in a variety of colors. I love Barcelona but next up on my list to try is Brooklyn!
What is your favorite shade of red? Have you tried anything else from the Buxom line?

I have always had a hard time finding mascara that works for me. My eyes water a lot so with most mascaras, I look like a have really been beaten down by about mid-afternoon. I recently tried a mascara that I found at my nail salon called blinc. blinc is the original mascara invented to form tiny water-resistant “tubes” around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. It is kind of scary the first time you wash your face and see all these tiny tubes in your sink, but after you look in the mirror and see all your lashes still full intact, everything is okay again!
I love this mascara because my eyes can water, and I can even cry (usually when Ellen gives away huge prizes to people on her show that change their life) without having any mishaps with my eye makeup. According to blinc’s web site:
Once applied, these beauty tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. blinc mascara will add volume and length to give you a radiant natural look that lasts all day. blinc is better than waterproof mascaras. All it takes is the combination of lots of warm water and gentle pressure, from your fingertips; a washcloth or water pressure (i.e. shower) and the tubes will slide off your lashes effortlessly. blinc mascara has been clinically tested to be non-irritating making it ideal for sensitive eyes, contact lens wearers, and active people in search of a mascara whose look, hold and ease of removal is without compromise.
I can attest to the promise blinc makes about their mascara being able to go “from the office, to your sweaty workout and then out to dinner,” because I put it to the test yesterday. My eyes looked the same at dinner as they did before I left for work.
If you don’t like the spider web lash look and you need mascara that will last you through the day then should definitely try blinc. It is $25.oo on blinc’s web site or you can get it at Amazon for $19.99. For makeup tips and news on new and existing products you can follow blinc on Twitter or fan them on Facebook!
Have you tried any mascara with the tube technology? If so, what did you think about it?

With the holiday season on our heels, we will be needing to vamp up our everyday look for all of the hot holiday parties. I must admit, I am not one for venturing out into bizarre makeup techniques, but I will occasionally do a smoky eye or slap on some blue or purple eye liner just for fun. My dad’s esthetician, Stefany, sent me a couple of new things they just got in at the English Surgi-Spa from Colorlab Cosmetics, and I love the new colors.
First up is the “Park Avenue” eye shadow, which is cleverly named after the Manhattan street that puts Christmas trees in the median every holiday season. The shadow is a beautiful forest green with gold metallic flecks and an indigo undertone. It would look great applied to the outer eye crease and under the lower lashes (Which is what I am told, because I am definitely not the make-up expert!)
Second is the “Hot Topic” lip gloss. It is a rich scarlet red that goes on sheer and glossy, so it looks great alone, or on top of a deep red lipstick if you want to go for the vintage glam look. Either way, your lips will be the hot topic at any party you go to.
My favorite thing about this gloss is that you can get it with any scent you want (Although I would personally go with peppermint for this one), and you can choose to add shimmer to it or leave it the way it is.
I will be on the prowl for more hot holiday colors as I thumb through all the December issues, but for now, these are two colors that I will definitely be using to vamp up my holiday party look!
Side Note: If you are interested in purchasing either of the two items mentioned above, you can order them by calling 501-227-9556

After reading Petra Guglielmetti’s post about fun pumpkin products for fall on Glamour’s Daily Beauty Blog, it reminded me of the amazing pumpkin peels I used to get at my dad’s office when I lived at home. I always loved the smell of cinnamony (yes I know that is not a real word) pumpkin along with the warm tingly feeling all over my face, and it always seemed to keep me glowing for days on end.
Tyra is always talking about h2t (modeling that is) on America’s Next Top Model, but what has me talking is the h2t pumpkin peel. h2t’s pumpkin peel is manufactured in-house (h2t’s own FDA lab and manufacturing facility) with the finest grade pharmaceutical and extracted ingredients available to estheticians.
Pumpkin reportedly contains more than 100 beneficial nutrients, which may be used to help reverse the signs of aging. And no, I don’t think any of these nutrients are found in the incredible tasting pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks. h2t pumpkin products offer antioxidants and enzymes that act like alpha-hydroxy acids, which have been shown to promote smoother, younger-looking skin by increasing the rate of cell renewal.
Pumpkin peels not only rejuvenate the skin’s surface by exfoliating surface cells, but they also bind moisture to the skin to transform dull, lifeless complexions into a more youthful appearance. So ladies, grab your latte and head over to your favorite spa, and if you happen to live in the Little Rock area, you can get a fabulous pumpkin peel at the English Surgi-Spa!
Have you ever had a pumpkin peel? What are your favorite pumpkin products for fall?

No dark circles here!
I was unfortunately blessed with lovely dark under eye circles, but I have recently learned a new trick to camouflage the darkness. I read somewhere (quite possibly Glamour magazine, but I can’t say for sure) that you can mix a highlighter with your eye cream in the morning before applying and it will help combat dark circles. After trying this, I could definitely tell a difference, but one can never know for sure if something is actually working or if your mind is just telling you it is. About a week later, someone said that I looked so refreshed (might I add this was the morning after a wedding) and I was more than happy to hear this because obviously it wasn’t just in my mind!
I am sure that any eye cream and highlighter will do the trick, but I prefer mixing Boots No7 High Lights Illuminating Lotion with my favorite eye cream from SkinCeuticals.
Why do we get these dark circles in the first place? In most cases it is hereditary and is caused by thin skin around the eye. Also, some blood is darker than others, venous blood in particular, so that causes darkness as well. Other causes can be nasal allergies, photo damage, hormonal activity, melanin and shadowing. For those who want to surgically fix this, a common procedure for its correction is a lower eyelid blepharoplasty. Fat transfer to the eye area combined with a chemical peel can help restore a more youthful contour from lash to cheek area.
What are your tricks to eliminate dark circles? Would you ever undergo surgery in order to fix dark circles?
