The time has finally come for the very first Confessions of a Plastic Surgeon’s Daughter giveaway! The prize in question is a copy of one of my new favorite films, Valentino: The Last Emperor. I had the pleasure of seeing this for the first time in the theatre with a couple of friends, and I thought it was the most beautiful and well-put-together film, with an ending that will take your breath away.
Valentino: The Last Emperor is a feature film that has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences (It seriously does. The ending is so beautiful it is hard to not shed a tear. But who am I to talk considering I cried watching Big drop to his knee at the end of SATC). Producer and director, Matt Tyrnauer, gives a behind-the-scenes look at the world of fashion, featuring unprecedented access to the high temples of Haute Couture. The legendary Valentino is the star of the film, along with his longtime business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti. A film crew followed them for the final two years of their careers, and captured the struggles the two men faced as they confronted the final act of a nearly 50-year career at the top of the world’s most glamorous and competitive game. The struggle of art against commerce is at the center of the film. In the end, however, the story proves to be not one about money or expensive clothes, but about love.
So now that you have heard about the prize, here is the deal. I will be posting three pictures this week at random times. The first photo will be of someone’s eyes, the second will be someone’s nose and the third one will be someone’s lips. I will post the photos on Facebook and Twitter, and you will have to guess whose facial feature is in each picture. You have to get all three correct in order to win, and if more than one person gets them all correct, then I will put all the names in a hat and draw one.
